Acts 1:8 Strategy

 FBC Salado Intentional Partnership Strategy

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”   - Acts 1:8

The partnership strategy of FBC Salado provides an opportunity for each member of the Body of Christ to “act, participate and do” through a variety of partnerships which help each person find at least one area of missional connection based on an Acts 1:8 Model.

HOW...

Each Adult, Youth, & Children’s Bible study class will adopt one partnership from each of the four regions, making a two year commitment to that area.

...For example, Adult 2 makes a two year commitment to the Clothes Closet (Local), Disaster Relief Teams (Texas & N. America), and Costa Rica (International).

WHAT...
  • Pray – commit to lifting up the leadership, needs, focus, missionaries, etc. Keep any prayer needs before the church through use of the prayer section of the church website.
  • Give – Commit to being the primary force, both vocally & financially, behind the giving, fundraising, and/or supply efforts for the needs/trips for each ministry adopted.
  • Volunteer – Commit to being the primary supplier of volunteers for each area as needed and able.

Future/Developing Thoughts

Local and Regional:
  • Continue to establish a consistent, constant and reliable local partnership effort that incorporates the efforts of FBC members ministering within their immediate community. For example: food banks, homeless shelters, clothes closets, apartment ministry, home repair/construction, Bible clubs, block parties, community events, homework clubs, art/music clubs
  • Provide opportunities for believers/churches outside the local area to invest in short-term trips and long-term partnerships with regional ministries, churches, and believers right here in Salado

International:
  • Inspire FBC Salado members, by exposing them to the reality of global physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, to take the message of Jesus Christ to a dying world through social welfare projects and direct evangelism
  • Provide cultural, evangelistic, and practical training to empower FBC Salado members to go and directly interact with our global partners
  • Provide opportunities within the context of a FBC Salado, to take the gospel to the ends of the earth by establishing long-term partnerships/relationships with missionaries and indigenous believers across the globe in areas where regular short-term mission trips would provide a beneficial advancement to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ideally, FBC Salado will move toward monthly (or more frequent) short-term trips. Long-term trips would also be planned for those interested/available.
  • Raise up and support “home-grown” lifetime missionaries through prayer, trips, furlough care, and finances.
  • Raise awareness of global issues and support for global ministries that are addressing those issues
