Worship Ministry
We believe that worship is one of the five important functions of a local church. Worship through music plays a very important role here at FBC. We offer a variety of choirs, vocal ensembles, and instrumental groups which enhance our corporate worship experience. In addition to the music, we often intermingle drama, video, and other multimedia to our worship services.
There is a difference between a song service and a worship service. A song service can be a loosely connected collection of favorite songs, whereas a worship service has a specific goal — to draw near and focus on the Lord. The acts of worship aremerely a reflection of a life already given to God and a rehearsal of future obedience. Worship is something that you do, it involves action. It isn’t a passive experience. When we actively, consistently love and adore the Lord, our actions will follow our heart. As we unite our hearts and minds in love for the Father each Sunday, we rediscover the strength of His grace in our lives.
Our Sunday morning worship services offer unique and uplifting musical styles. The first service is a contemporary mix accompanied by our praise band,
CrossEyed. The second service is a traditional blend accompanied by our pianists, celebration orchestra, and worship choir. In both services, our purpose is the same – to encourage the believer, exalt the Savior and evangelize the seeking. We intend to give our Holy God the praise and worship that He alone deserves.
Worship Choir
Our Worship Choir is open for all persons ages 16 and up. Weekly rehearsals are from 7:00-8:00 p.m. every Wednesday evening in the Music Suite. This non-audition choir invites both seasoned and inexperienced singers into its ranks. If you have never participated in a choir before, or cannot read music, this is the place for you. We’ll teach you how to sing and how to read music. The Worship Choir along with our orchestra instrumentalists are our key worship-leading group in the 2nd service.
Celebration Orchestra
Our Worship Orchestra is open to anyone ages 15+. To be a part of the instrumental ensemble, you must have at least three years playing experience on your instrument. The Orchestra instrumentalists accompany the choir during the 2nd worship service as scheduled. Routine rehearsals for the orchestra are from 4:45-5:45 pm each Sunday afternoon.
