With a background and gifts in education, preaching, teaching, management, missions, and youth work, Dr. Scott Mescher provides a broad range of solid associate pastoral leadership. He has served in local churches, the State convention, and the mission field, joining the staff at FBC Salado in 2009. Dr. Mescher earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion & Spanish from Oklahoma Baptist University, a Masters of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Apologetics from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also served as an Adjunct Faculty member at Campbellsville University and Simmons College, both in Kentucky. Married to Corey, they have 3 children, Corban, Noah, & Ellie.
In 1991 God called Scott to serve in full-time ministry and in December of the same year he responded, “Here am I.” Scott attended college to prepare for the gospel ministry, and God confirmed his call by providing a variety of ministry opportunities. Serving in international and domestic missions, along with preaching opportunities, excited Scott to serve the Lord and present the gospel. After college, he and Corey married and moved to Seattle, WA to serve two years with the Language Church Extension, ministering in Spanish. Scott is bilingual with English and Spanish and uses his linguistic gift to spread the Gospel. He is currently serving as an adjunct professor for BUA (Bapt Univ of America) who offer satellite courses on the FBC Salado campus.
Scott enjoys spending time with his family in outdoor activities, camping, hiking, and riding bikes. He especially loves running! Scott ran the Indy-Mini half-marathon in Indianapolis, five different times, and ran his first full marathon in November 2009. When he's not racing around, Scott also enjoys reading history, especially biographies.
