Childhood sweethearts Garrison and Savannah Hennig are approaching their 10th wedding anniversary and have two children, Garrison II (“G2”, age 5) and Mayleigh (2 months).
Savannah shares, “Members of a church in Temple for much of our marriage, after moving back to Salado a couple of years ago we began feeling called to pursue a church home in our hometown. A community of familiar faces, a passion for Jesus, and a youth group full of kiddos that our children will go to school with were all important factors in our decision.”
Determined to “make our own path” as adults, Savannah was fairly adamant that her childhood church, FBC Salado, would NOT be our church home. And yet, God said otherwise. “In 2018 we began attending FBC with a ‘let’s see how it goes’ approach and quickly fell in love with the church whose people felt like home. FBC has done a phenomenal job of making us feel seen, known, and loved which we feel is a wonderful reflection of how Jesus sees, knows and loves us. As soon as we joined we were invited to several Sunday School classes, and we are looking forward to visiting and joining one when Mayleigh is a few months older. We are enjoying the fellowship at Wednesday night dinners, and G2 has excitedly told us he plans to be part of the live nativity next Christmas. :)”
Say the Hennigs, “We are thankful God’s plans are different from our own, and that He led us (back) to FBC Salado!”
