Welcoming New Believers in Baptism

IMG_1257.jpeg

This past month we celebrated the “next step” spiritually for several in the FBC Family! May 26 we had the joy of continuing our 155 year old tradition - baptizing in Salado Creek! Please affirm Ren Angell and Robert Schwindt in their walks of faith!

We believe that baptism is a public response of obedience to Jesus Christ as Lord. Although baptism does not save us, it demonstrates our recognition of the lordship of Jesus in our lives, and is a picture of the faith that we profess.

Christian baptism is the immersion of a Believer in water in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the Believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. It follows the example of Jesus who was baptized by immersion as He began His ministry. And it affirms a Believer’s death to sin, burial of their old life, and resurrection to walk in newness of Christ.

Baptism is a beautiful picture of what has happened to us on the inside.
Has it happened to you…?
